How we vet
RestoreCompass lists damage-restoration companies so you can compare them honestly. Here's exactly what our data is, what our badges mean, and what they don't.
Where listings come from
We build initial listings from public business information (name, phone, address, hours, rating) for restoration companies operating in the metro. A listing existing here is not an endorsement — it's a starting point for comparison.
What "verified" means
A Verified credentials badge appears only when we have confirmed a real credential for that provider — never automatically. Because the check differs by service:
- Water Damage Restoration: we verify IICRC certification and/or applicable state license, plus active insurance.
- Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration: we verify IICRC certification and/or applicable state license, plus active insurance.
- Mold Remediation: we verify a valid Florida DBPR mold license (Ch. 468, Part XVI), verifiable on MyFloridaLicense.
- Storm & Hurricane Damage Restoration: we verify IICRC certification and/or applicable state license, plus active insurance.
- Biohazard & Trauma Cleanup: we verify IICRC certification and/or applicable state license, plus active insurance.
- Reconstruction & Repair: we verify IICRC certification and/or applicable state license, plus active insurance.
In Florida, mold assessment and remediation are licensed professions, so a verified mold provider means we confirmed a Florida DBPR mold license (Ch. 468, Part XVI). We do not perform restoration or mold work ourselves and do not guarantee any provider's results.
Reviews and ratings
Ratings and review counts are aggregated from public sources and attributed to that source. We don't write, buy, or fabricate reviews, and we don't invent engagement metrics.
Corrections and removals
Listings are based on public data and can be wrong. Owners can claim a listing, and anyone can request a correction or removal from any provider page. We honor legitimate correction and deletion requests.
